Bringing Hope. Restoring Dignity.
Empowering Communities.

Uganda—often called “The Pearl of Africa”—is one of the most naturally beautiful countries in the world. Yet despite its natural beauty, Uganda faces deep challenges. It remains one of the most impoverished nations in the world and is currently hosting over 1.5 million refugees, mostly from war-torn South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Khayamandi Foundation believes every person deserves hope, dignity, and the opportunity to thrive. That’s why we’ve chosen to walk alongside the people of Uganda—partnering with local leaders and international organizations to create lasting, life-giving change.

Our Why

1

Getting clean water shouldn’t be a daily struggle

2

Children deserve education, safety, and a full stomach

3

Communities flourish when people have meaningful work

4

Healing from trauma needs space, compassion, and faith

5

Every life holds dignity, and every person has God-given potential

Arua, Uganda

A vital hub for refugees from South Sudan and the DRC, Arua is home to our Missions Café and Guest House—a welcoming space offering coffee, meals, and lodging. It employs local residents, supports families, and helps keep children in school. The café hosts workshops, community events, and groups, while serving as a base for partners in discipleship, education, and sports outreach at Camp Rhino Refugee Settlement. A monthly Farmer’s Market connects local farmers and artisans, fostering community and small business growth.

Rhino Camp Refugee Settlement

Home to over 155,000 refugees—mainly widows and orphans—Rhino Camp is one of Uganda’s largest settlements. In the Omugo 6 Zone, Khayamandi operates New Life Early Childhood Development Center, serving 400+ preschoolers with education, meals, and a safe place to grow. The center provides jobs for local teachers, staff, and after-school program leaders, including a structured sports program for older children. Access to clean water is a major challenge. In partnership with World Vision Uganda, we built a water system that now serves over 3,000 people.

Future Hopes & Dreams

As we look to 2026, we will begin facilitating an agricultural project in Omugo 6 of the Rhino Refugee Settlement. We also hope to expand our after-school programming and small business opportunities. At Missions Cafe, we are expanding our tourism industry and creating more opportunities for our donors and volunteers to come be part of the work at the settlement, as well as in the city of Arua.

Our Impact in Uganda

While statistics like these are vital for measuring growth, we understand our impact is truly exponential. The most profound effect is the ‘ripple effect’ of transformation, where the empowerment of a single person strengthens their family and ignites positive change throughout their whole community.
