The Importance of Identity

Thoko, a staff member at Youth For Christ Options Care Center in Knysna, South Africa, is passionate about teaching young girls and boys about their identity in Christ.

She facilitates support groups for mainly Grade 7 students covering a spectrum of crucial topics like identity, purpose, and the harsh realities of issues like human trafficking. Grade 7 is a pivotal year for these students. It is the final year of primary school before advancing to high school. Thoko and her team aim to create a strong foundation of values and self-assurance in the students by addressing these themes early on.

Options Care Center offers a variety of counseling and support services including crisis pregnancy support, HIV/Aids support, support groups and school and community outreach. This holistic approach ensures that individuals of all ages receive the necessary support to thrive in their personal journeys.

Central to the mission of Options Care Center is the support provided by the Khayamandi Foundation. Through their financial contributions, the Foundation empowers the Center to continue its vital educational and support initiatives.
